1.- Reducing the work-day to 4 hours  seems illogical. We are supposed to work more in order to earn more income and live more comfortable. If we work less, wouldn’t that accomplish the opposite?

The trends are showing that work hours are increasing, but real income remains flat or very little increment in spite productivity increases. French economist Serge Latouche uses simple supply and demand to explain why working more does not mean to earn more. He states that working more increases the supply of labor and since demand for labor does not increase (Employers don't have a need to hire more workers due to the extra hours they get from existing employees), then wages go down. It is like giving free or low-cost hours to employers, hence devaluing our wages.
